Thanks, very appreciated.  We'll have an update available with these GUI corrections plus also Image-based markers for Mac.  We'll confirm the date for this upcoming release soon.

All the best,

Bugs / Re: Marker not found action

Hi there,

This would require a change in BuildAR that we are planning for next year: to be able to position and display 3d objects and other assets independently of the marker.  Right now this is not possible because the video or other assets can only be shown if the marker is also visible.

Best regards,

- Gabriel

HI there,

What version of BuildAR are you using?  Could you send us the .scn and .bat files at support@buildar.org to assess the situation?

Best regards,

Hi there,

This is fine actually, in Mac the Video doesn't have properties to be shown here (it only uses the Camera with default resolution for now) and in the case of Markers, it won't show the properties until you create a Marker a select it.

Hope this helps despite the late reply =P

General Support / Re: I canīt open the webcam video in buildar screen

Thanks Carlos,

That's interesting that for Vinicius it worked on XP despite having an Intel GMA graphics card.  We do have some XP PCs for testing, but so far have decided not to support Intel GMA graphics cards until we can make it work consistently in all platforms and most configurations.  We are evaluating Intel GMA support in a future upgrade, so we'll take this finding into consideration.

Hi Hanan, thanks for the early feedback on Mac.  I wonder what graphics card you have?  Does the application show some kind of message when starting?

Hi there,

BuildAR Free supports only a few file formats and not all the features in them.  I would recommend to try these if you have the time:

- Try creating a very simple version of your model.  If it works fine, then you can add more features and test again.  Do this until it gives you the problem again.  This would give an indication of what is not supported.
- Alternatively you might like to try exporting to .ive or .osg file formats as this sometimes give better results.  You can use this plugin for Max for exporting to this alternative file formats: http://sourceforge.net/projects/osgmaxexp/

General Support / Re: support for bump, specular or nomal maps?
« on: August 08, 2011, 08:14:20 pm »
Hi Cesar,

Thanks for the question.  Normal maps are not possible right now, but we are aiming into supporting them through 3d file formats that can carry that information, such as the FBX and Collada file formats.  The same applies to Specular maps.

Cheers,

- Gabriel

General Support / Re: BuildAR free version-aniamation supported?
« on: August 08, 2011, 06:51:21 pm »
Hi there,

Yes you can, however it supports less variety of 3d model formats: only OpenSceneGraph (.ive, .osg).  One of our goals is to provide a more updated version of this free editor so it can provide as many formats as the Pro edition supports.

Best regards,

- Gabriel

Hi Vinicius, sorry for the delay in the response.  Currently we don't support Intel GMA graphics cards, so that's very likely the cause of the problem.  We don't yet have plans to support this card in future release but will make our best to cater for more variety of hardware.
