FAQ / Re: IP based camera
« on: January 25, 2012, 01:35:23 am »
If the IP based camera can be recognized as a DirectShow device then BuildAR will recognize it as a camera input.

However BuildAR currently does not support video input streamed from an IP address.

Yes - that is one of the most requested features. We can look into implementing it, however I think it will take some time.

It is not possible to do that currently, but that is a very good idea. We should look into it.

General Support / Re: IMAGE BASED MARKER

I am sorry. This is a marker problem - we have a limit for 8 markers right now. However we can work on increasing that.

It is not a problem with your 3D models at all.

General Support / Re: Cannot See 3D Images

Do you get the default blue box appearing on the sample marker? And then just have problems when you try and load other 3D content?

If not then there may be an issue with your camera settings. Have you tried with different camera image capture size?

Suggestions / Re: Suggestions for BuildAR ?

Dear Cedric,

Thank you for your question. If you want to show Augmented Reality in a web browser then BuildAR cannot currently do that. The best option would be to explore the Flash based FLARToolKit and FLARManager. See http://www.libspark.org/wiki/saqoosha/FLARToolKit/en

BuildAR is a stand alone authoring tool and viewing application, so can only be used to create AR scenes that can be viewed in the BuildAR viewer.

However, you can make BuildAR scenes available for download from the web, and if people have the BuildAR viewer they can see them on their computer. For example see the new BuildAR showcase of AR scenes: http://www.buildar.co.nz/buildar-showcase-2/

I hope this helps.
